Hi Mom & Dad,
Joan's picked out her wedding venue -- Richard Smart's home on the Parker Ranch can be rented for events for $250-$5000. He was last descendant of Parker family to live on the ranch. He left the ranch in a trust to benefit the Hawaiian community because it would have cost his sons $250m in taxes. His ranch is where Marines trained for attack on Iwo Jima during WWII. Beautiful collection of Impressionistic & Venetian art. Wonderful scenic gardens with mountain views. You'd love it! Two sisters also touring said their father was a Marine who trained on the property.
Ever onward,
Mary Ellen
